St. Louis Police Athletic League
The mission of PAL is to provide a positive and constructive environment through sports and activities for our St. Louis youth to grow and develop, keep them safe, and ensure that they choose a positive path for their future. We fill playgrounds, not prisons
The St. Louis Police Athletic League (PAL) has consistently grown since its inception in 1992 from a single baseball team to the fully committed non-profit organization that it is today. In conjunction with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) and the St. Louis community, we fund more than 40 teams consisting of an average of 850 youth annually. All PAL sports and related activities are supported by a full-time SLMPD Police Officer along with dozens of officers who volunteer their time and energy throughout the year. These officers offer a nurturing, safe and positive environment for youth that also fosters a positive relationship with police. Our goal is to reduce crime through supervised athletics and related activities. Further, we provide educational and social development activities that foster increased self-esteem and mutual respect between police and the community.
St. Louis PAL is a Chapter of the National Police Athletic League. National PAL started over 70 years ago with 6 Chapters and has since grown to more than 300 Chapters. These chapters serve youth ages 5 to 18 in various cities across the country. National PAL provides resources to aid in organizational growth and enrichment opportunities.

STAFF
PAL is staffed full-time by Executive Director Jen Tranchilla and PAL Coordinator SLMPD Police Officer Regiana Moore and supported by a Board of Directors and dozens of police officers who volunteer their time to help PAL fulfill its mission.
SPORTS
Currently, more than 40 youth sports teams are formed to increase confidence, competence and a sense of belonging in the community. It is important for our youth to have access to structured activities beyond school hours. In order to facilitate this and emphasize positive choices, PAL pairs youth with police mentors from the communities in which they live and play.
Importantly, ALL PAL PROGRAMS ARE FREE FOR OUR YOUTH! There are no equipment or uniform costs and PAL pays for league and travel fees. We are able to provide these benefits to our youth because of generous donations from individuals and businesses in the region.
